Pictures for publication must be scanned at 300dpi. To do this at home follow the directions below.

  • 1. Open your scanning software.
    2. Many of them have an "automatic mode" and a "Professional Mode". Set the mode to "Professional".
    3. Set the output of the picture to: TIF and for the resolution set it to 300 dpi
    4. Scan the picture. It will save as a *.Tif file.

    5. Open the picture with your software.
    6. Save it as a *.jpg with no compression

Consider donating your book to the Shtetl Foundation.

The Shtetl Foundation needs your help in collecting photos, documents, artifacts, memorabilia, letters and postcards for the Foundation’s Museum and Archive. Please send your family’s originals to our office. If you would like to keep the originals, we will reproduce the material and return it to you promptly. You will be fully credited for your donations. The material will be stored at secure storage facility provided by Rishon-Le-Zion until they will be transferred to the rebuilt Shtetl. The Shtetl will provide a beautiful permanent home for your family’s treasures, where they can be shared with future generations. Please, share this request with your family and friends. With your help we will restore the vanished past!
